Helen Marie Sheets, 93, of Flora, died, Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Mulberry Health. She was born to the late Grant and Sarah Abby Hill Wagoner on July 31, 1923 in Carroll County, Indiana.
Helen married Raymond E. Sheets on April 28, 1945 in Carroll County and he preceded her in death May 6, 1996.
She and her husband farmed in Carroll County for years. After retiring from farming Helen worked at the Brethren Home in Flora for 11 years. Helen was a member of Radnor United Methodist Church, where she was involved with the Women’s Fellowship. She also enjoyed gardening and reading. In 1941, she graduated from Rossville High School.
Helen is survived by a daughter: Sarah Berry of North Fort Myers, FL. Son-in-law: Robert Lewis of West Point. Four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her, daughter-Katherine Lewis, son-in-law- Steve Berry, 3 sisters- Myrtle Vinard, Ruth Rainy, Dora Obst, brother- Paul Wagoner.
Helen’s family will receive friends Monday, June 12, 2017 from 11:00 AM till time of her service at 1 PM at Wheeler Family Funeral Home-Baker Chapel, 204 South Center Street, Flora, IN 46929. Reverend Ed Selvidge officiating. Burial to follow at Zion Cemetery. Family ask that any donations be made the American Heart Association.
