Our Beloved brother, John Robert Ruhly, commonly known as “Tink”, went home to be with Jesus on December 8, 2016 in Flora, Indiana. He was 50 years old. He was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, serving Him through his God given Ministry in reciting the book of James – bringing the content to life to all who listen. In addition, he recited all the names of God. He was known for his unique voice messages – each reflecting his love of the Lord. (Last voice message: Hey this is Tink ,Sorry that I missed your call. Leave me your name, number, and a brief message and I will get back to you; and remember people, I was addicted to the Hokey Pokey…but with God’s help, I turned myself around. And so, can you. You have a blessed day.)

John was born in Toledo, Ohio. During his life, he lived in Florida, New York, and finally, Flora, IN. He was a graduate of State line Christian High school, and had an Associate’s degree from Owens Technical College in computer science. Although becoming disabled as an adult, he was determined to lead a life for his Lord.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald E. Ruhly, mother, Kathryn P. Ruhly, his oldest brother, Michael D. Ruhly, grandparents Vida H. Kern and Ova F. Corbin all of Toledo OH. and grandparents Robert and Dorothy Ruhly of Miami, FL. He Leaves to cherish his memory, daughter Malorie Stuchel, Kokomo, IN., sisters, Barbara Shippy ( Michel) and Helen Justen  (Thomas) both of Denton Texas; and brother Donald C. Ruhly ( Kelly) of Waterville, OH. He is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews and 12 great nieces and nephews..

A Celebration on John Robert Ruhly’s life will be at 6:30 PM, Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Sharon Baptist Church, 7012 E. 50 N., Flora, IN 46929.  Pastor Mike Wilson officiating.  The family’s request that all donations be made to Sharon Baptist Church in memory of John. Wheeler Family Funeral Home-Baker Chapel has been entrusted to serve the family.

    I remember John from being a fourth grader at Fort Miami School in Maumee Ohio. He was know as being full of life and I enjoyed him in my classroom. Rest in Peace, John.
