Ruth Ann Pearson, 93, of Delphi, passed peacefully into heaven, Thursday, February 22, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Delphi. Ruth was born on May 15, 1930, to the late Horace and Elnora Ward Oaks in Cutler, Indiana. Ruth was a lifelong resident of Carroll County. She was in housekeeping at the former Brethren Home in Flora and kept the books for the farm trucking business. Ruth Ann was a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was the most important part of her life. Ruth Ann Oaks married the lover of her life, Leroy J. Pearson on June 1, 1947, in Delphi and he preceded her on October 6, 2018, being married for 71 years. She was a member of the Radnor United Methodist Church since May 9, 1943. She enjoyed gardening, baking pies and baking cookies with the grandkids. Surviving are two daughters: Joyce (Ken) Ehrlich of Grand Prairie, Texas and Belinda Pearson (companion Danny Rhine) of Burlington. Son: Michael (Carol) Pearson of Bringhurst. Sister: Freda Reed of Oregon. Brother-in-law: Sanford Pearson of Lafayette. Eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She is preceded by her parents, husband, sister-Mary Ellen Shaffer and three brothers- Roy Oak, Floyd Oaks and Larry Oaks.
Ruth Ann’s Family invite friends to visit Friday, March 1, 2024, from 10:00am to 12:00pm. A celebration of Ruth Ann Pearson’s Life will start at 12:00pm at Wheeler Family Funeral Home-Baker Chapel, 204 S. Center Street, Flora, Indiana 46929. Rev Ed Selvidge will officiate. Burial to follow at Zion Cemetery next to her husband. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to charity of choice in Ruth Ann’s memory.
