Brenda C. Daly, 69, of Flora, entered Heaven’s gates on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at her home. She was born on November 6, 1955, in Delphi, to the late Joseph R. and Julia A. Hubertz Daly.

Brenda lived her life with a servant’s heart, always ready to lend a hand to family, friends, and anyone in need. She dedicated many years to helping others through her work at the Indiana Government Center in Indianapolis, serving in the Division of Family and Children social work.

A gifted artist, Brenda shared her creativity and passion with the Carroll County community. Her artwork can be found displayed at murals in Flora and Rossville, and she taught art classes at the Flora Library and in her home. She was featured on the television show Across Indiana Art Wall and also taught at the Indianapolis School for the Blind. Over the years, she held many roles, including director of Carroll Manor and employee at Star Furniture in Lafayette.

Brenda’s greatest passions were her faith, her family, and the world of art. She graduated from Delphi High School, attended Indiana University, and earned her degree in Fine Art from Martin University.

She married Greg Mrugacz, who survives. She is also survived by her three beloved children, Ethan (Holly) Daly of Grand Rapids, MI, Jairus Reid of Camden, and Lily Daly of Cutler; four cherished grandchildren, Malachi, Lincoln, Kingston, and Thaddeus Daly; five sisters, Mary Wilhem, Sue Daly, Joann Carr, Maureen Parker, and Sara Brosman; and one brother, Greg Daly. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Michael Daly, and her sister Chris Curwen.

Brenda’s children each carry with them memories that reflect her love and spirit. Lily shared that she will always live by her mother’s pursuit of legacy, remembering how Brenda turned every new face into a friend. Jairus will always treasure the moments they spent together listening to Christian music and reading scripture. Ethan is thankful for the lessons his mother taught him—especially that anything is possible with God’s blessing and hard work—and for her dedication to ensuring he received the finest education.

Brenda touched countless lives through her kindness, her faith, and her art. Her family invites all who knew and loved her to gather for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by the service at 4:00 p.m. at Victory in Christ Fellowship, 115 N. Washington Street, Flora, Indiana. Greg Brenneman will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Right to Life in Brenda’s name.

Wheeler Family Funeral Home – Baker Chapel of Flora is honored to serve the Daly family.

I’m so saddened to read of Brenda’s passing. I came to know Brenda( well the whole Daly family, through her sister Sara. Who was my best friend in middle school).
I spent lots of time in the Daly household. I knew them all, and loved them all. Brenda was my idol. She was so pretty, smart, and witty. She told me not too long ago, she would see Sara and I walking downtown Delphi, and I would be wearing her clothes. 😆
I came back to Carroll County after living away for years. Brenda and I were at 218 Market. I saw this pretty woman shopping. She kept looking at me. She came up to me and asked if I was Linda Pfister. I immediately knew she was Brenda. We saw each other often after that, as I was working at the Super Value in Flora. I loved talking with her. Brenda came from a sweet family. She, like all the Daly kids have great hearts. They are givers, and want to help people.
I am going to grieve Brenda’s passing. So, unexpected. But, I know her legacy of having a giving and loving heart will live on. 🙌

Brenda was my wife of six years we loved antiqueing and garage and barn sales . She was a beutiful loving person a prayer warrior for many people. She worked tirelessly at the delphi senior center she wrote grants to get the funds to build the seniors a new building and furnish it she was the honored recipient of the carrol award for this project. I met her online and we were soon married. She also was asked by the carrol county commissioners to take over at Carrol Manor. We both worked tirelessly to get the manor back on track. She was paid and i volunteered. We cleaned out all the junk that was acquired over the years i scrapped some metal for operating cash. The finances were a mess in three months she had the place out of the hole with the income they had that was a feet only she could do. At that time she was having back problems .we later found out her cancer had returned. She will be missed dearly.

My deepest sympathies to the Daly family. As a fellow classmate of the DCHS class of ’73 I’m sure we would all agree how fortunate we were to have had Brenda as one of our own. She was a special and unique person. She will be missed but never forgotten by all of us that knew her. We were very lucky to have had her as part of our lives.

My dear baby brother Ethan, I am so sorry for your loss. I had the privilege of knowing your Mom and actually got to spend some time with her when you were first born. I remember that she was very nice to me. I’m praying God will console your heart and hold you close during this time. I love you. From big sister Debbie.
