Cynthia Ann “Cindy” Julius Jones passed away peacefully on Monday, February 9th following a lingering illness.
Cindy was born December 3, 1948, in Lafayette, Indiana to Robert “Bob” and Georganna Huber Julius. Cindy spent her childhood in Flora, where she attended elementary and middle school before graduating from Carroll High School in 1967. She attended Purdue University, graduating with a degree in Speech and Hearing Therapy. Cindy married and had two children who were her entire world. She became a single mother and joined the work force initially being employed at the Camden Elevator until it’s closing. She began working with FSSA as a public assistance caseworker. Her passion was assisting those in need of medical and financial assistance. Her clients respected and trusted her as she did them. Cindy was promoted to supervisor of White and Carroll County offices where she continued to work until her maximum age of retirement.
Cindy was a member of the Flora Methodist Church and an inactive member of Flora Psi Iota Xi.
On April 4, 1985, Cindy married the love of her life and soul mate Phil Jones. Together they enjoyed transforming their backyard into an oasis of vegetable and flower gardens. Freezing and canning produce was a must for the family to enjoy the efforts of their labor all year long. Bird watching was an enjoyable pastime, as well as spoiling the numerous pets they lovingly cared for throughout the years. Cindy also enjoyed crafting, reading, and collecting antiques.
Family was everything to Cindy. They were always her top priority. She always made sacrifices to ensure their well-being.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Phillip “Phil” Jones, her brother, Robert “Rob” Julius of Pittsboro, two children, Adam Yeakley of Flora, Tracy Gaylor of Kokomo, and a stepson, Tracey Dean Jones of Michigan. She was also blessed with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Susan McCarty for her compassion and excellent caregiving she has provided over the years.

My condolences to you and the family on the loss of Cindy. I have very found memories of working with her at FSSA and then being neighbors. Have wonderful memories of setting out in the back yard, bird watching, watching Fluffy when he found the catnip in her flower beds, watching the sky divers on the weekends & gardening with both of you. Very grateful for the friendship and having wonderful neighbors.
