Geneva P. Hughes, 95, of Flora, died at her son’s home in Flora, Sunday, February 7, 2021. Geneva lived in Flora most of her adult life. She was born to the late James Henry and Gertrude L. Brown Robertson on August 26, 1925 in Tippecanoe County, Indiana. Geneva married Donald Wayne Hughes and he preceded her on July 30, 2011. Geneva delivered the Lafayette Journal and Courier and the Indianapolis Star newspapers in the Flora area for years. She also worked at Sayco and the Bag Factory in her younger years. Geneva is survived by a daughter: Sandra Sue Rodenbarger of Monticello. Three sons: Dennis Robertson of Arkansas, John W. Hughes of Deer Creek and Ron Hughes of Flora. Stepson: Larry Hughes of Ohio. Brother: James Henry Robertson of Monticello. Several grand and great-grandchildren and a few great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded by her parents, husband and stepdaughter, Connie Slusher.
There will be a celebration of Geneva’s life at a later date. Interment will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery.
