Joel F. Voorhees, 65, of Flora, died unexpectedly at his home Monday, April 8, 2024. Joel was born on December 11, 1958, in Logansport, IN to Charles L and Ruth Hollis Voorhees. Joel retired from Brim Concrete in production, working there since 1989. In his younger years he worked for his brother Terry and Dale McIlrath in the chicken business clean up. He attended Carroll Schools and was a former member of the First Brethren Church in Flora. Joel enjoyed fishing, playing video games and going to air shows. Joel is survived by his mother: Ruth Voorhees of Flora. Three sisters: Donna A Voorhees of Florida, Charlene and Brian Keeling of Attica, Regina and Andy Clouse of Hillsboro, IN. Five brothers: Richard and Nancy Voorhees of Bringhurst, Terry and Lynn Voorhees of Fishers, Jimmy and Sue Voorhees of West Lafayette, Joseph and Julie Voorhees of Illinois and Michael and Lisa Voorhees of Burlington. He is preceded by his father Charles, brother Donald and sister Dale.

The Voorhees Family invite friends to visit Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 11:00am to 1:00pm. at Wheeler Family Funeral Home-Baker Chapel, 204 S Center Street, Flora, IN 46929. A Celebration of Joel’s Life will start at 1:00pm. His brothers Richard and Terry will lead the celebration. Burial to follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Joel’s memory to charity of choice.
