John Kelsey Dyer, 89, formally of the Flora/Bringhurst area, died Sunday, October 8, 2023, in Mesa, AZ where he and his late wife, Pasty, lived for the past five years. John was born on September 4, 1934, in Bringhurst to the late Charles Cecil and Rose Ethel Beougher Dyer. John had two siblings Ruby Ryan who died March 2006 and Charles Devoe Dyer who died March 2015. John married Patsy Jane Rader in Camden, Indiana on June 7, 1959. She preceded him in death on December 13, 2021. John worked on farms in Carroll County for most of his life. This included preparing fields and driving a semi, hauling feed and pigs. He was a local volunteer fireman for many years. John proudly served his Country in the US Army. John is survived by sisters-in-law, Ruth Lones, Mesa, AZ, Lois Brown, Monticello, IN, Willie Mae Bechdolt, Camden, IN, Fonda Spangler, Delphi, IN, along with several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may gather Wednesday, October 18, 2023, starting at 12:00pm for a Celebration of John’s Life starting at 1:00pm at Wheeler Family Funeral Home-Baker Chapel, 204 South Center Street, Flora, IN 46929. Pastor Morgan Young will officiate. Livestreaming is available at https://webcasts.lifetributes.com/1289451. Private interment will be at Musselman Cemetery near Camden. Memorial donations may be given in John Dyer’s memory to charity of donor’s choice.
