Lewis Walter Schnieb, 82, of Burlington, died at his home Monday, February 8, 2016 with his children at his side. Lewis was born to the late Walter and Neoma Hayes Schnieb on October 24, 1933 in Carroll County and has live there all of his life.
He married Christine Simmons on August 23, 1955 in Flora and she died November 9, 2010.
Lewis retired in 1986 from Delco in Kokomo after working there 31 years. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, playing cards and was an avid poker player.
Lewis graduated from Flora High School in the class of 1952. After graduating he began serving our Country in the US Army.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law: Vicky and Joseph Schnieb Morgan of Galveston. Three sons and daughter-in-law’s: Curtis and Brenda Schnieb of Flora, Brian and Von Schnieb and Chris and Edie Schnieb both of Camden. Ten grandchildren and Fourteen great-grandchildren. One sister: Nancy Harshbarger of Rossville. One brother: David Schnieb of Rossville. Lewis is preceded by his parents, wife and a brother Henry Schnieb.
Lewis’s family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 PM till the time of service at 2:00 PM at Wheeler Family Funeral Home-Baker Chapel, 204 South Center Street, Flora, IN 46929. Pastor Bruce Vernon is officiating. Burial to follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery with Carroll County Honor Guard military rites. Family ask all donations to Carroll County Cancer Association.

    My deepest condolences to the Schnieb Family. Uncle Louie Was always kind to me. Even though I have not spent time with him recently, I know be will be missed
