Marcelline May Dismore, 97, of Battle Ground, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at the home of her daughter in Battle Ground.

Born on December 18, 1928, in Winamac, Indiana, Marcelline was the daughter of the late Homer and Hilda (Onken) Curwick. She was raised in White County and married Harold Dismore on December 18, 1946, in Monticello. Together they shared nearly 47 years of marriage before Harold preceded her in death on August 6, 1993. For the past twenty years, Marcelline made her home with her daughter, Phyllis, in Battle Ground.

Marcelline worked at The Dress Shop in Monon before dedicating herself to her family as a homemaker. She and Harold cherished the years they spent wintering in Fort Myers, Florida, enjoyed camping with their family, and made countless memories together. A devoted Chicago Cubs fan, Marcelline remained loyal to her team through every season.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Frank) Smith of Earlham, Iowa, and Phyllis Bowsman of Battle Ground; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Linda Franklin of Monon; and her brother, Wally (Angie) Curwick of Lafayette.

In addition to her husband and parents, Marcelline was preceded in death by her brothers, Eddie Curwick and Glen Curwick; her son-in-law, Louie Bowsman; and her brother-in-law, Gene Franklin.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Bedford Cemetery in Monon. A family gathering following the burial at Linda’s house.

So sorry to hear of Marcy’s passing.
It is a complete surprise, why and how I came across this information! I was not searching obituaries.
So, now, I pray for the friends and families who are blessed to have her as a spirit that will remain with them and the memories shared for so many years.
There are so few people in our lives that we never quite know thier life story or thier deep thoughts. But, there is no need, because they carry a light and soul that tells us they are special, and God blessed.
Sometimes, that’s all we need to know and experience to share life with them.
God Bless and carry you all peacefully in the days ahead.
