Linda and family, I am so sorry this morning after reading of Don’s passing. He was one of my best friends at Purdue; we learned a lot studying together. We shared plenty of good times in those four years. Our most recent visit was at the retirement of one of our favorite profs. What a good time we had that afternoon even though many years since we had been together. Don was one of those guys you could always count on and it looks like that helpful spirit was a lifetime endeavor. Yes, a kind and gentle man who was a good friend. John Hobson AG ECON, 1966

Linda, This news shakes me right to the core. I fondly think of Don as my best friends at Purdue. Time and place has not changed that. As a freshmen we hit it off right away with similar backgrounds, farm kids, 4-H and apprehension about our upcoming college experience. We leaned on each other to make it through. In the summers we went water skiing many Sunday afternoons on Lake Shaffer. As the years went by we infrequently touched base with each other. It was like we always picked up right where we left off.

You and Don in your marriage have totally been committed to each other and to your family. That speaks volumes. As you move forward he will be your guardian angel.
